History:

Gavin was born as a small Poochyena in the big city of Castelia. His father, an Arcanine and his mother a Mightyena. Both of them were very successful at their jobs in business. The wanted their son to be just as successful as them. So as a child, he was put into the best school money could buy. Unfortunately, money couldn't buy his grades. Soon his grades dropped so low, the school didn't care how much his parent's were paying, they wanted him out.

Eventually, no private school wanted him. School after school, his grades were always awful. His parent's did not understand. He was getting the best education, why was he not learning anything? Little did they know, he was learning. He just didn't do any of the assignments or homework he was ever given. In Jr. High, his parent's met with his teacher. She explained what he was doing. He was a great listener, and if asked a question he could answer it immediately. He was very bright. But he just choose not to do his real work.

After this, his parent's decided to have a word with him. They wanted him to be successful, like them. But he didn't want to be like them. His parent's were devastated when hearing this. After that, they started getting strict with him. Taking away any and all of his privileges if his grades did not improve, and if he was to be kicked out of another school, they would home school him. Then he couldn't get away with faking assignments or just skipping them.

Caving in, his grades improved exponentially. He did not enjoy it, but it was better than being home all day with his parents. At least at school he got a bit more freedom than at home. In his High School years, he began getting interested in technology. Gavin now spent his free time building small robots. It just interested him. And getting something to interest him was quite rare.

His parent's saw he was very talented in this area, and promised they would send him off to the most prestigious tech school in the region. Of course, he did not want this at all. He just wanted to do what he did, without it actually becoming a job. If it turned into a job he would no longer enjoy it.

When he graduated, he felt something lift off of him. A few days after, he evolved into the Mightyena he is today. It was like school was restricting him from being himself. And he finally had come to the conclusion he would live the rest of his life just enjoying it the way he wanted too. The way he felt his life should be lived.

His parent's didn't make this easy however. They had already enrolled him into the private tech school, and expected him to go there. So they bid him farewell that day. What they didn't know, is that he was not going to go to the school. For several years after this, he just did what he wanted. Just wandering around the region, doing whatever odd jobs may come his way.

When he got his pay for one of these jobs. With the money, was a rather weathered envelope. After almost no consideration, he had his few belongings packed. If this place really ran on Steam-driven technology, than he wanted to see it. The closest port was in his home town. Castelia City. When he arrived, he decided to pay his parent's a visit. It's the least he could have done before leaving to this new and strange place. Come to find out, they had moved soon after he left, and no one could remember where they had moved too.

Since he had nothing left here in Unova... he boarded the Brass Ship with nothing to lose...

Extras:

• Gavin is very intelligent. His parent's money was not put to waste, he just never really has a reason to show his intelligence.
• He tends to daydream a lot. He'll just sit there staring off into space for hours on end.
• He also has a bit of a romanticist in him. He would love to someday meet that certain someone...
• Gavin get's bored at about anything. Heck, he'd probably find paint drying more interesting that you.
• If given a choice, Gavin would do absolutely nothing. But since one needs money to buy food, and food is needed to survive, he must do some things.
• He enjoys a good riddle. A brain teaser even. As stated before, he's rather smart, but doesn't often find reasons for it.
• As you can probably tell by how he looks, he doesn't really care about his appearance. He's begun to care more about his appearance.
  
• His interest in technology is merely for enjoyment. He would never choose it as a career.
• The watch he wears is just for looks. He's too lazy to change it's battery.
